Please see the troubleshooting steps below for details of how to join the live event via the Teams app, via a web browser or on an iPad.
If you are joining through the Microsoft Teams app
If you already have the app installed on your device you should see a prompt somewhere on the screen asking if you would like to watch the event using the Teams app – click ok to confirm and the app should open. Click the option to “join as a guest” and you’ll be admitted to the meeting.
If you do not already have the app installed on your device, clicking on the event link in the invitation email will open a page in your web browser prompting you to “get the teams app”.
Once the app is installed, click the link again. You may see a prompt asking if you want to join the meeting using the Teams app. Click ok to confirm this and you’ll be taken to the app, where you should select the option to join as a guest to be admitted to the meeting.
If you are joining through a web browser
If you are trying to join through your web browser, please ensure you are using Google Chrome as other browsers are less compatible with Microsoft Teams.
To download Chrome if it isn’t currently installed on your device, visit https://www.google.com/chrome/
When Chrome is installed, simply copy and paste the event link from thr email into the address bar, where you would normally type the address of a webpage, and press the enter key.
The page you arrive at will ask you if you wish to download the app, or watch on the web instead. Click “watch on the web instead”. And you will see the following screen:
Click “join anonymously” to join the session as a guest. You will now be admitted to the event.
If you are joining on an iPad
You must have the MS Teams app installed on your iPad to access the event.
Tap the invitation link int he email. If you do not already have the app installed, you will see a page inviting you to install it – follow the link to the Apple Store to download the app.
Once the app is installed, tap the invitation link again. You may see a prompt asking if you want to “Open in Teams?” – tap OK to allow the app to open.
When the app has opened:
You will be given a few options for how to join. Tap “join as a guest”.
On the next screen you will be asked to enter your name. Please do so, and then tap “join meeting” to join the event.
